Sounding Off

With regard to the Quibbles & Bits in Outtakes Feb. 21, your unidentified quibbler seems to imply that the CD release of “Rent-A-Cop” sound track is somehow inappropriate given the movie’s poor showing at the box office.
What would you prefer? Another album of oldies from that movie masterpiece “Dirty Dancing”? The missing “Ishtar” sound track?
For the record, “Rent-A-Cop” was scored by Jerry Goldsmith, one of the most talented composers around. As such, the album may well outperform the movie it was written for.
I suppose it’s too much to expect that Calendar writers would show a distinguished composer any respect.
