College of the Canyons 10, Glendale 2--Ray Palagyi and Jeff Flesher both hit 2 doubles in the Western State Conference game at Glendale.
Valley 5, Mt. San Jacinto 4--Eric Vargas led off the 11th inning with a home run to give the Monarchs (6-0, 3-0 in conference play) a Southern California Conference victory at Mt. San Jacinto.
SOFTBALL
CS Northridge 4-6, CS Bakersfield 0-4--Debbie Dickmann picked up a win and a save for the visiting Lady Matadors in the California Collegiate Athletic Assn. doubleheader.
Cal Lutheran 12-0, University of San Diego 4-3--Teri Rupe went 3 for 3 and had 4 runs batted in and Kelly Ingram went 2 for 3 with 1 RBI to lead the Regals to a win in the first game in the second-round of the CLU Invitational tournament. CLU was shut out in a semifinal game against San Diego.
