UNITED NATIONS — Tunisia called on the U.N. Security Council on Thursday to condemn Israel for what it called “state terrorism” in the murder last Saturday of a top Palestine Liberation Organization official in his Tunis home.
Khalil Wazir was shot to death in an operation alleged to have been carried out by Israeli commandos, but Tunisian Foreign Minister Mahmoud Mestiri gave the U.N. no evidence of Israel’s involvement.
Israeli leaders have neither confirmed nor denied their forces’ involvement.
