A 19-year-old auto-theft suspect was killed Friday in a crash in the 4300 block of Fairmount Avenue after a chase by San Diego State University police, authorities said.
Paul Foster of Arrow Rock Avenue died of massive head injuries at 8:55 a.m. at Mercy Hospital, Deputy Coroner Robert Engel said.
A passenger in the car, Matthew Jackson, 19, was booked on suspicion of auto theft, San Diego police spokesman Bill Robinson said. Jackson was treated for minor injuries at Mercy and released into police custody.
