China Executes Bicycle Thief

BEIJING — A 29-year-old man in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong was executed for stealing 113 bicycles in two years, an official newspaper reported Saturday.
The Legal Daily said Xiao Guoqi was sentenced to death in Shantou and executed Friday, for stealing $7,000 worth of bikes between March, 1984, and May, 1986.
