Widening Laguna Canyon Road

I protest the widening of Laguna Canyon Road as a futile step in trying to increase the safety of traveling this route. It is the drivers, not the road, which cause the accidents. The widening of the road would seriously detract from the natural beauty that characterizes it now, increase the hazard of traveling, for it could enable faster driving, and involve unnecessary expenditures of taxpayers money.
The problem of safer travel of the canyon route should be met by enforcement of speed limits, construction of rough pavement at critical places and installation of stop signals and or lights at such spots.
Save Laguna Canyon’s scenic beauty, save the taxpayers’ money, save the lives of many canyon travelers and save the atmosphere of Laguna by refusing to widen the canyon.
