The UCLA School of Law celebrated its 36th annual graduation Sunday. Degrees were conferred on 315 students, with 303 receiving juris doctorate degrees and 12 master of laws degrees.
Keynote Speaker: California Supreme Court Associate Justice John A. Arguelles said: “California’s bench and Bar share a common calling to vigilantly guard our heritage of justice and equality under the law. This state’s lawyers and judges have a tradition of working together, and may it always be so. The biggest challenge the California Bar faces is the expeditious delivery of legal services to all those in need.”
Other Graduations:
The University of La Verne featured a speech by Sister Magdalen Coughlin, president of Mt. St. Mary’s College, at its 98th commencement Sunday. Degrees were conferred on more than 1,300 students.
California Lutheran College celebrated its 24th graduation Sunday. Leif Mevik, Norwegian ambassador to Spain, spoke. Nearly 350 diplomas were awarded.
