Jean-Francois Rault of France won the 85th Bordeaux-Paris cycling race, leaving the field more than three minutes behind.
Rault covered the 380 miles in 18 hours 5 minutes 51 seconds in a race that began Saturday night.
Despite suffering cramps 35 miles from the finish, Rault held off Belgium’s Roger Illegems by 3:31. France’s Bernard Chesneau won a sprint for third over Henry Dorgelo of the Netherlands and Vincent Lavenu of France, all 3:37 back.
