“The Last Movie,” the 1971 film that nearly ended the directing career of former San Diegan Dennis Hopper, may be re-released theatrically by Miramax Films if a one-week test run at San Diego’s Ken Theater is successful. “The Last Movie,” which opens Sunday and runs through June 25th at the Ken, was to be have opened simultaneously at the Nuart in Los Angeles, but that theater, also run by the Landmark chain, is doing so well with Wem Wenders’ “Wings of Desire” that it chose not to change the marquee.
