California Senate President Pro Tem David Roberti’s quote, “Typical California. They make decisions pretty much independent of us” in reference to the campaign finance initiatives (Part I, June 9) goes a long way toward explaining why there are so many public-initiated ballot measures. Turn that quote around and have a typical voter’s remark, “Typical California elected officials. They make decisions pretty much independent of us.”
