Santa Monica : KCRW Radio Wins 2 Awards

“Joe Frank: Work in Progress” and “ARTS/LA,” two programs produced at radio station KCRW, licensed to Santa Monica College, have received national broadcasting awards.
Joe Frank’s three-part series “Rent a Family” won the Corp. for Public Broadcasting’s Radio Program Award for best performance. The series told of a divorced woman with two children who joins the Rent a Family agency to make her family available for rental to lonely men wanting to be part of family life.
ARTS/LA, KCRW’s weekly magazine of the arts, was honored with an Achievement of Merit Award from the Ohio State Awards for Journalism. The arts program features behind-the-scenes and on-the-scene conversations with actors, directors, producers and artists.
KCRW is National Public Radio’s flagship station serving Los Angeles and Orange counties at 89.9 FM.
