Bill Keep, Harbor College outfielder-designated hitter and a former Culver City High School star, was named to the All-Southern California Athletic Conference first team and the All-Southern California community college second team by votes of coaches. Keep batted .377 overall (.418 in conference play) and had 6 home runs and drove in 32 runs in 37 games.
Shandra Livingston won the women’s singles title and Chuck Davis, men’s singles in the Michelob Light West Coast Tennis Championships, a benefit for the Crenshaw District Tennis Assn. The association helps defray tournament expenses for junior players. Runners-up were Lea Antonopolis and Alvin Gardner.
Holes in one were scored by Marlene Vickter Zell of West Los Angeles at the Rancho Park Golf Course nine-hole layout and by Reginald Turner of West Los Angeles at Penmar Golf Course.
