CHALLIS, Ida. — A 4.7 earthquake today rocked the tiny central Idaho town of Challis, which five years ago was the site of a 7.3 quake that killed two children.
Today’s quake, centered in Challis, occurred at 11:32 a.m., said Waverly Person at the National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colo. He said that the epicenter was about 180 miles northeast of Boise and that there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries around the mountain community.
