L. A. Baptist 21, Cathedral 0--Coach Michael Boshers got one good half out of tailback Chris Robinson and the L. A. Baptist offense, but that was more than enough at Cathedral.
Robinson rushed 6 times in the opening half for 84 yards and 2 touchdowns and also threw a 20-yard scoring pass to split end Sonn Eidem as the Knights improved to 2-l. Robinson’s first touchdown came on a 17-yard sprint around right end to cap an 8-play, 77-yard drive that followed the opening kickoff. His second score came on the identical play from 44 yards with 4:18 left before halftime.
With less than 2 minutes to play in the half, Robinson returned a punt 27 yards to the Cathedral 25. After quarterback Dan Stepper gained five yards on a keeper, he faked the same play and pitched the ball to Robinson, who threw to Eidem for the touchdown.
