The Rolling Hills Estates City Council has given final approval to a 72-lot subdivision at Highridge Road near Crestridge Road. A city park will be razed for the project and rebuilt by the developer, who has agreed to create an improved version on another part of the 36-acre property.
West Los Angeles developer Ed Miller bought the land for $6.5 million from the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District, which had declared it surplus. Forty-four of the homes, with about 2,500 square feet of space, will sell for an average price of $500,000; 28 larger ones, of 3,500 to 4,500 square feet, will be priced between $825,000 and $1.2 million.
