Bonita Granville Wrather Dies

Bonita Granville, a successful child film star who abandoned show business to marry wealthy Texas entrepreneur Jack Wrather and then helped him build a major financial empire, died early today at St. John’s Hospital and Health Center. She was 65 and had been battling cancer.
The daughter of show business parents, she first went on stage at age 3 and became popular as a child performer in films, playing a series of vicious children. She also portrayed juvenile leads and was the fictional girl detective Nancy Drew in the series of the late 1930s.
