An earthquake, measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale, rocked western Greece, flattening more than 20 buildings, injuring at least 25 people and causing widespread damage, a government spokesman said. The tremor was centered in the Ionian Sea between the island of Zakinthos and the mainland port of Kilini, the Athens Seismological Institute said. Police said 80% of the houses in Kilini were cracked or otherwise damaged and that parts of the port had sunk as much as one foot. Tents, blankets and medicine were being rushed to the area, on the Peloponnesian coast about 130 miles west of Athens, the government spokesman said.
