College Roundup : Perisi Leads Irvine Soccer Team to 4-0 Victory

Mike Perisi scored 2 goals to lead UC Irvine to a 4-0 victory over San Jose State Sunday in a Big West Conference soccer match at Irvine.
Perisi scored both goals in the first half to give the Anteaters a 2-0 lead.
Darren Bedolla and Shawn Bullock also scored for Irvine (7-10, 3-5).
Goalie Damon Ellis made 4 saves for Irvine.
In another Big West Conference match:
Nevada Las Vegas 5, Cal State Fullerton 1--Adam Keith scored 2 goals to lead the host Rebels (10-5-2, 6-2), who scored 4 goals in the second half. Paul Oldham scored for Fullerton (6-10-2, 3-4-1) midway through the second half.
In the Cal State Long Beach water polo tournament:
UCLA 13, UC Irvine 7--The second-ranked Bruins scored the first 6 goals of the game and led, 10-3, at halftime in a first-round game at Belmont Plaza in Long Beach. Alex Rousseau scored 4 goals for UCLA. Skylar Putman and Mark Herman each scored twice for Irvine.
USC 11, UC Irvine 9--Zoltan Berty scored 5 goals as the Trojans eliminated the sixth-ranked Anteaters (13-11) in their second game Sunday. The score was tied, 5-5, at halftime but Berty’s goal with 38 seconds left in the third quarter gave the Trojans an 8-7 lead. Kevin Wood, Tony Bell and Tom Warde each scored 3 goals for Irvine.
