Northwest May Stay in St. Paul: Minnesota Atty. Gen. Hubert H. Humphrey III said John Davis, son of millionaire Marvin Davis, assured him that his father would keep Northwest Airlines’ operations in St. Paul and expand the airline if Davis’ $90-a-share bid for the airline is accepted. Minnesota officials have vowed to fight any effort to break up the airline. Meanwhile, NWA said it reached a contract agreement with 10,500 clerical workers and reservation and ticket agents.
