Rolando Ignacio, accused of attempting to kill three people on a downtown San Diego street Nov. 22, was ruled mentally incompetent and not fit to stand trial.
Ignacio will be sent to Patton State Mental Hospital near San Bernardino, where he will receive psychiatric treatment.
Ignacio is accused of shooting into a crowd of people at 4th Avenue and Market Street downtown. He wounded Robert Mengar, 59, and Mengar’s fiancee, Cynthia Conyiers, 37, both of whom had just left a Lions Club luncheon, and Susan Snyder, 29, owner of Gaslamp Art Gallery.
