STATE : Rancho Seco A-Plant Starts Closing

SACRAMENTO — The Rancho Seco nuclear plant began shutting down today after voters for the first time in U.S. history decided to close a working reactor.
With all precincts reporting, there were 111,867 votes, or 53.4%, against a measure that would have kept the plant operating, and 97,460, or 46.6%, in favor.
