Boy, 12, Critically Hurt Crossing Pacoima Street

A car struck and critically injured a 12-year-old boy as he walked across a street in Pacoima on Sunday, authorities said.
Michael Hicks, a resident of South Carolina, was airlifted to Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles following the 5 p.m. accident in the 11000 block of De Foe Avenue, hospital spokeswoman Kathleen Stevenson said.
Additional details of the accident were not immediately available.
