The Nation : Airline’s Failure to Stop Aliens Charged

Eastern Airlines has failed to crack down on illegal aliens boarding with fraudulent immigration papers or no papers at all, said Miami’s immigration chief. Perry Rivkind, district director for the Immigration and Naturalization Service, said he will meet today with a representative from the U.S. attorney general’s office to discuss prosecuting Eastern Airlines and Air Panama. The announcement came after 47 Cubans were arrested at Miami International Airport with phony passports or no passports. Rivkind said it appears many of the illegal aliens obtained phony documents in Panama, then flew Air Panama to South American cities, where they boarded Eastern flights.
