An elderly Santa Ana woman was struck and killed when she ran into the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and 17th Street in front of oncoming traffic, police said.
Ignoring a red light and “don’t walk” sign, Guu Teh Pak, 69, ran into a crosswalk about 8:46 p.m. Monday and was struck by a car driven by a 17-year-old male, who was not held or charged, according to Santa Ana police spokeswoman Maureen Thomas.
Pak was taken to UCI Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 11:17 p.m., Thomas said.
Police did not identify the driver because of his age.
