Harvey Rosenfield, chairman of Voter Revolt, the sponsor of Proposition 103, called on Atty. Gen. John K. Van de Kamp and Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. Ira Reiner to launch criminal investigations into alleged massive skimming by the executives and sales agents of bankrupt Coastal Insurance Co. and its affiliates. “Prosecution must be undertaken to ensure that insurance industry executives know that white-collar crime in the insurance industry will not be tolerated in the post-Proposition 103 era,” Rosenfield declared in letters to the two officials. Spokesmen for Van de Kamp and Reiner said they will review the facts before deciding to undertake investigations.
