Rio Mesa Upsets Westlake, 15-7

David Frazier drove in five runs, four on a grand slam in the third inning, to lift Rio Mesa over Westlake-Agoura, 15-7, in an American Legion District 16 game Saturday at Rio Mesa High.
Trailing, 5-0, after 2 1/2 innings, Rio Mesa erupted for seven runs in the third, four in the fourth and three in the fifth. Gordy Abellero, Steve Soliz, Dmitri Young, and John McMullen each doubled for Rio Mesa.
Brian Smith hit a home run and a single and scored three runs for Westlake (25-3-4). Teammate Bob Grandpre was three for three. Scott Lerner (4-1), who was relieved by Sean Howard in the sixth, was charged with the loss.
