KCBS-TV Channel 2 news director Erik Sorenson has been moved up to the newly created position of vice president and station manager. Sorenson, who has been the station’s news boss for most of the last five years, will be involved in the administration of all station activity. Channel 2, which despite numerous anchor and format changes has been running third in the news ratings race throughout most of Sorenson’s tenure, has not yet named a replacement to head the news department.
