A 70-year-old Van Nuys man was found dead on his driveway this morning, apparently crushed when his car rolled down an incline and over him, Los Angeles police said.
The victim, whose name was not released pending notification of his family, was found at 1 a.m. on his driveway in the 8100 block of Allott Avenue by a neighbor, police said.
The death was being investigated as an accident. Police said it appeared that the man had parked the station wagon in his garage but forgot to put it in gear or set the emergency brake. After he got out, the car began to roll down a slight incline in the driveway, and the man apparently tried to stop it but was run over, police said.
