Datron Systems’ Profit Rises 52% in 1st Quarter

Datron Systems in Simi Valley said its fiscal first-quarter profit jumped 52% from a year earlier on a 37% increase in sales.
The company, which makes aerospace antennas, tracking systems and training simulators, said net income in the three months ended June 30 climbed to $866,000 from $571,000 a year earlier. Sales rose to $10.6 million from $7.73 million.
Datron also said its backlog as of June 30 totaled a record $36 million, up 29% from $28 million a year earlier.
