An unidentified man was killed early Monday when he was struck by two cars as he attempted to dash across a freeway near San Ysidro.
The Latino man carried no identification and was in his 20s, according to Deputy Coroner Joe Cogen.
The victim was running across the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Dairy Mart Road about 12:45 a.m., a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said. A car struck the man, tossing him over the vehicle. When he landed in the roadway, a second car dragged him about 150 feet, the spokeswoman said.
The victim was dead at the scene, Cogen said. The man was wearing jogging pants, blue deck shoes, and a red, long-sleeved sweat shirt.
