Maui-bound readers should be aware that vandalism of rental cars has become a major problem on the island. Trunk break-ins occur routinely, and police seem unable to prevent it.
Please warn readers to refrain from leaving any valuables in their cars while on Maui. After having my billfold stolen, I investigated this matter and was shocked to learn that this type of crime has become an epidemic.
