Boris Becker has taken out a $10-million insurance policy with Lloyd’s of London against being kidnaped.
According to published reports, Becker’s manager, Ion Tiriac, took out a $4-million policy costing $12,000 a year on Becker four years ago. The new policy costs $160,000 a year.
A Lloyd’s spokesman said that the kind of policy taken out by Becker is often sold to celebrities. Becker won the U.S. Open and Wimbledon championships this year.
