NEW YORK — U.S. Open champion Curtis Strange today was named to the four-man lineup that will compete in golf’s Skins Game in November.
Strange will join Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino and Ray Floyd in the made-for-television competition at La Quinta, Calif., Nov. 25-26.
Nicklaus, Trevino and Floyd were named earlier. The selection of Strange by a panel of golf experts completes a field that duplicates the 1988 line-up, Don Ohlmeyer, president of Ohlmeyer Communications, said in his announcement.
In the Skins Game, the four players compete for a designated amount of money on each hole. If no player wins the hole outright, the prize money is carried over to succeeding holes until one player wins a hole. Total prize money is $450,000.
The Skins Game will be televised nationally by NBC.
