CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : NORTHERN CALIFORNIA : Protesters to Disrupt State’s Tule Elk Hunt

Fifteen tule elk will be hunted starting Saturday in what state officials call game management, hunters call sport and protesters call senseless murder. Members of the California chapter of the Hunt Saboteurs, based in Santa Cruz, say they plan to disrupt the hunt in the Cache Creek region of Yolo, Colusa and Lake counties, 80 miles north of San Francisco near Clear Lake, but would not say how.
