When Frank Sinatra learned that Gennady Gerasimov, spokesperson for President Mikhail S. Gorbachev, said that Moscow has adopted “the Frank Sinatra doctrine,” Ol’ Blue Eyes expressed delight and said: “I’m honored to have my name associated with freedom of choice and people’s dreams for a better life. I think it’s marvelous.” Sinatra, who made the comment for his Beverly Hills home, is scheduled to perform at San Francisco’s Circle Star Theatre in November.
