Control Data Corp. named its president, Lawrence Perlman, to the additional post of chief executive beginning Jan. 1.
Perlman succeeds Robert M. Price, who will remain chairman. The appointment was expected after Price announced in September that he was relinquishing the chief executive duties.
Perlman was named president and chief operating officer of the Minneapolis-based computer company in December, 1988. Previously, he had been president of Control Data’s disk drive operation.
