Donahue Plans Oil Spill Show

The oil spill in Orange County will be the topic of a Phil Donahue television show expected to be taped today in Burbank and tentatively scheduled for airing at 3 p.m. Thursday on KNBC-TV.
Donahue, who has scheduled stars Ted Danson and Kirstie Alley to appear on the program, has also invited Huntington Beach Mayor Thomas J. Mays, state Controller Gray Davis and Chuck Webster, a spokesman for British Petroleum.
Donahue, who toured Orange County beaches with Mays on Saturday, said he chose the oil spill as a topic for his show because environmental issues “are being raised every day.”
Danson, a founder and president of the American Oceans Campaign, is an advocate for a cleaner environment. Guests will also include Robert Sulnick, American Oceans Campaign executive director.
