FILLMORE : Deputy Crashes Into Woman’s Vehicle

A Ventura County sheriff’s patrol car crashed into another vehicle in Fillmore on Friday as a deputy rushed to assist other officers who were arresting a drunk driver, deputies said.
A car driven by Deputy Jim Evans collided with the car of Louise Garcia of Fillmore at Ventura and Olive streets, Lt. Kathy Kemp said.
Both cars were turning onto Olive Street, and the intersection was clogged and confusing because of construction in the roadway, Kemp said.
After the collision, Kemp said, Garcia’s car spun around and traveled about 50 feet down Olive until it crashed into a tractor-trailer.
Both Evans and Garcia were transported to Santa Paula Memorial Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries and released, Kemp said.
