Doctor Arrested Over Drug Prescription

A Newhall physician was arrested Tuesday on charges that she prescribed excessive amounts of prescription painkillers to her patients, who complained to Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies that they had become addicted to the substances.
Dr. Sondra Soho, 49, a gynecologist, was arrested on 10 counts of furnishing restricted drugs, which can only be obtained with a doctor’s prescription, said Deputy Bill Wehner.
Deputies who searched Soho’s office Tuesday seized medical records and unspecified amounts of painkillers. She was released from custody Tuesday evening after posting $50,000 bail.
