PREP ROUNDUP : Richardson Leads Dana Hills Golfers to Victory

Sophomore Scott Richardson shot one-over-par 73 at El Niguel Country Club as Dana Hills High School defeated Capistrano Valley, 340-399, in a South Coast League golf match Tuesday.
Dana Hills (12-1, 8-1), is ranked third in the Southern Section southern region.
In other South Coast League golf matches:
Irvine 404, San Clemente 413 (18 holes)--Ted Baker shot two-over 74 for Irvine (11-9, 3-7) at Rancho San Joaquin.
El Toro 409, Mission Viejo 446 (18 holes)--Jim Zakhar shot eight-over 80 for El Toro (13-4, 6-3) at Mission Viejo Country Club.
In Orange League golf:
Valencia 207, Savanna 223--Kengo Takahashi shot one-over 37 for Valencia (12-0, 5-0) at Dad Miller.
In Pacific Coast League golf:
Trabuco Hills 183, Orange 197--Justin Harrison of Trabuco Hills and Mike Baron of Orange each shot two-over 35 at Riverview. Trabuco Hills is 12-4, 5-1.
In Sea View League golf:
Estancia 212, Corona del Mar 223--Andy Rothman shot three-over 39 for Estancia (9-1, 5-0) at Mesa Verde.
In Sunset League golf:
Marina 284, Edison 290 (12 holes)--Marina’s Blake Alban shot a four-over 53 at SeaCliff.
Fountain Valley 425, Westminster 430 (18 holes)--Jerry Slagle shot 10-over 80 for Westminster at Meadowlark.
Huntington Beach 396, Ocean View 427--Mike Hobson shot a five-over 77 for Huntington Beach at Mile Square Park in Costa Mesa.
In Empire League boys’ tennis:
Esperanza 10, Loara 8--Loara freshman Cameran Lindee won his singles sets, 6-2, 6-0, 6-4, and remained undefeated in league play. Take Katsube won two of three sets, 2-6, 7-6, 6-0, for host Esperanza (11-3, 5-0).
In Garden Grove League boys’ tennis:
La Quinta 16, Garden Grove 2--No. 1 singles player Peter Vu won his sets, 6-3, 6-0, 6-1, to raise his league record to 24-0 for visiting La Quinta (12-4, 8-0).
In Pacific Coast League boys’ tennis:
Woodbridge 12, Laguna Beach 6--Visiting Woodbridge swept in doubles and Jon Leach and Lee Kirner swept in singles for Laguna Beach. Woodbridge is 10-3, 5-0.
In Sunset League boys’ tennis:
Huntington Beach 15, Ocean View 3--The No. 1 doubles team of Dave DeMirano and Sajeet Sihota, swept, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1, for host Huntington Beach (11-4, 4-3).
In South Coast League boys’ volleyball:
Capistrano Valley 3, El Toro 1--Eric Olson had 79 assists as Capistrano Valley won at home, 10-15, 15-8, 15-11, 15-13. Ryan Benn had 24 kills also for Capistrano Valley.
Mission Viejo 3, San Clemente 1--Greg Amaya had 22 kills and seven blocks and Mike Lawson had 20 digs as Mission Viejo (5-6, 2-3) won, 6-15, 15-11, 16-14, 15-2.
Irvine 3, Dana Hills 1--Chris Swanner had 20 kills and Kurt Povirk had 16 as host Irvine (13-2, 7-4) won, 15-12, 15-11, 14-16, 15-12.
In Sea View League boys’ volleyball:
University 3, Newport Harbor 1--Martin Wagner had 19 kills for visiting University, which won, 15-12, 15-9, 11-15, 15-9. Mark McAnlif had 16 kills for Newport Harbor (4-5, 3-2). University is 7-2, 4-1.
Corona del Mar 3, Estancia 0--Sophomore outside hitter Doug Hesse had 11 kills for host Corona del Mar in a 15-10, 10-15, 15-6, 15-6 victory. Corona del Mar is 5-2, 5-0.
In Century League boys’ track and field:
El Modena 106, Santa Ana Valley 21--Mike Terry won the 440-yard run (52.0 seconds) and the 220 (22.3) for host El Modena (5-1, 3-0).
In Century League girls’ track and field:
Santa Ana Valley 64, El Modena 62--Brenda Robinson won the triple jump (36-10 1/2), the long jump (17-5 1/2), the 440 (1:01.8) and the 110 intermediate hurdles (16.4) for Santa Ana Valley.
