Lee F. Browne, director of secondary school relations and special student programs at Caltech, has been chosen president-elect of Region E of the National Assn. of Minority Engineering Program Administrators.
Since 1969, Browne has headed Caltech’s science program for junior and senior high school students, a program that includes seven weeks of college-level science taught in the summer by Caltech students, and a series of Saturday sessions during the academic year.
The program is designed to help minority students get a head start on college-level science.
