The course starts at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, heads south along the coast and winds up at La Jolla Cove Scripps Park. Also included in the activities are 2-mile and 5-mile jaunts.
The race, which offers a $500 prize to the male or female that breaks the course record, is limited to 4,000 entrants. Deadline for registration is Saturday, and no sign-ups will be accepted the day of the race.
All profits will go to the La Jolla Kiwanis Foundation to help youth projects there.
