From Times Staff and Wire Service Reports
A telephoned bomb threat prompted police to evacuate a terminal at Los Angeles International Airport this morning; no bomb was found, but traffic was snarled for miles around the airport.
Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad teams and detectives from the department’s criminal conspiracy section searched for about three hours after cordoning off Terminal 2, which houses Air Canada, Avianca, Northwest, Pan Am and Hawaiian Air.
Officers said the threat, which was received about 5 a.m., did not target a specific section of the terminal.
