MANSFIELD, La. — Three members of Northwestern State University’s women’s basketball team--including the top scorer last season--have been arrested and accused of burglaries in two parishes.
The three Lady Demons told authorities they “were just out drinking . . . and lost their minds,” said Pleasant Hill Marshal Clyde Callens, who arrested two of the players.
Booked Thursday in DeSoto Parish on two counts of burglary were Iris Dixon, 20, a junior starting guard and the leading scorer; Tammy Blankenship, 19, a sophomore guard; and Tami Knotts, 18, a freshman point guard.
They also were charged with burglary in Sabine Parish.
