The Cal State Northridge women’s softball team swept past host Chapman on Wednesday, winning a pair of California Collegiate Athletic Assn. games, 13-0 and 9-4, to tie its best conference record in school history.
The CCAA champion Lady Matadors (44-19 overall) finished 18-2 in conference play to tie the record set in 1987.
Debbie Dickmann (22-7) picked up the win in the first game, which was shortened to six innings by the 10-run rule. Dickmann’s win was the 98th of her career at Northridge. Supporting Dickmann were Jeanne Mixon, who hit her third home run and drove in three runs, and Krista Miller, who knocked out two hits and scored two runs.
In the second game, Heather Lindstrom (13-6) scattered six hits as Northridge broke open a 2-1 game with a six-run fifth inning. Anna Getherall drove in three runs and Mixon had two hits and an RBI.
