COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Mota’s Triple Sparks Titans to Victory

Domingo Mota’s two-run triple in the second keyed a four-run inning that helped Cal State Fullerton defeat U.S. International, 8-2, in a nonconference baseball game Wednesday in San Diego.
David Ayala, Rich Gonzales and Steve Sisco each had three hits for the Titans (27-19).
In nonconference baseball:
Chapman 14, Southern California College 6--Doug Yates, who went three for four with five RBIs, hit a grand slam in the fourth and Chris Cutliff went two for two with two RBIs for visiting Chapman (28-19). Steve Helweg (4-0) pitched five innings, allowing a run and four hits.
Cal State San Bernardino 6, Christ College Irvine 4--Christ College scored a run in the bottom of the first, but San Bernardino scored four in the second. Rodney Nelson went two for four and had an RBI for Christ College.
