S. Parker Gilbert, chairman of Morgan Stanley Group Inc., said he will retire at the end of 1990. Gilbert said he had recommended to the firm’s directors that Richard B. Fisher, president of Morgan Stanley, be elected chairman and that Robert F. Greenhill, vice chairman, be elected president. Gilbert, 56, will remain closely affiliated with the firm as a director of Morgan Stanley Group and as chairman of Morgan Stanley’s advisory board.
