Gap Inc.: The San Francisco-based retailer posted net income of $21.2 million in the first quarter, up 40% over the same period of last year, on sales of $402 million, a 30% increase. The company said that comparable-store sales increased 18% for the quarter and that all of its divisions contributed to the results.
