Hernandez Leads Orange to Victory

Ruben Hernandez pitched a one-hitter and hit two home runs to lead Orange High School to a 6-1 victory over Newport Harbor in the first round of the 4-A playoffs Thursday at Newport Harbor.
Hernandez hit a three-run home run in the third inning and a two-run homer in the fifth.
He struck out seven, hit a batter and allowed his only hit and his only two walks in the third inning.
Jesus Romo had three hits, including two doubles, and had one run batted in for Orange (17-9). Newport Harbor ended its season 10-17.
