Pittsburgh to Mark July 4 on the 3rd to Save Money

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The city is moving its Fourth of July celebrations to July 3 because of higher overtime rates in a new contract with police officers. The switch will save about $16,000 in police salaries and $4,000 in pay to other city workers, the city’s chief administrative officer said.
